11. Vickery Nation (1818-1894)

(5) Vickery Nation, son of Isaac and Lucy (Owen) Nation, farmer, Wataga, a native of Randolph Co. N.C. He was born in Barren Co., Ky. His mother was a native of Halifax Co., Va. came to Knox Co. in fall of 1835. His education was somewhat limited, receiving the greater part of it in an old log schoolhouse in Ind. In Oct. 1844 he was married to Rosanna Proe, who died in 1858. They were the parents of 7 children, of whom 4 are living. He was again married on April 3, 1874, to Mary E. Denton. He has been very successful in farming.
